Understanding Meet Qualifying Standards
Some track & field meets have qualifying standards that athletes must meet in order to compete. These standards are set by each individual meet and can vary based on the event, competition, and number of athletes accepted.
Because of this, being considered Varsity on our team does not automatically mean an athlete will qualify for every Varsity competition throughout the season. Athletes must meet the required standard and/or be accepted by the meet host to compete.
Our coaches will communicate directly with athletes about where they are competing each week. Meet entries, events, and competition assignments will be communicated by Wednesday each week so athletes and families know the plan for the upcoming meet.

Travel meets
We have two travel meets scheduled this season. Because these competitions require overnight and/or additional travel, participating athletes will be responsible for applicable travel fees.
Coach Matt will communicate directly with athletes selected for these meets several weeks in advance, including a full itinerary, estimated costs, travel details, and expectations.
If you competed at the 2026 Varsity District Meet, there is a good chance you may be selected for our travel meets this season, but participation is not guaranteed. Meet selection will be based on qualifying standards, performance, event needs/limitations, work ethic at practice, attitude, meet/practice attendance, and other factors.
