Boys' season wraps up

The boys capped off a fine season with a night of high level competition on Friday.

Back in November we laid out a few goals as a team.
Win WIC again...check.
Improve on our previous years' sectional and regional performances...check
Have multiple events represented at the IHSAA State Finals...check.

We did have some fine performances on Friday night., but I would be lying if I said that we had all of the performances that we had hoped for.   However, the full impact of this season can not be measured in one night.  The impact that seniors Blake Edwards and Michael Mest have had on the program is great.  The guys following them next year will have a high standard to strive for....Get it Blake?  A high standard?  (excuse the pun).  Really, these guys have done a lot over their four years at EHS and we are proud to have had them there tonight wearing that Edgewood uniform.

Smith, Chambers, and Harrison have all three had outstanding seasons.  In the 300s Smith and Chambers went 19th and 12th, respectively.  Two in the top 20 is a heck of an accomplishment.  Harrison taking 21st in the 400, as the only sophomore in that event, is really impressive.  The 4x4 has had a remarkable season, winning some really tough races and providing a lot of exciting moments to wrap up the meets throughout the season.  Making it to the state finals this year has given them (and myself) something greater to strive for next season.

Congratulations to all of the Mustangs who have raised the bar for their own performances by this time next year.  And thank you to all the parents who have supported our program in the various ways you have, throughout the season.
