Awesome Ashba

For those that did not make it out to the IHSAA girls track and field state finals on Saturday, you missed a fantastic cap to a tremendous high school career with Olivia Ashba's final high school meet.  Taking 6th in the 100 hurdles in and of itself would be an excellent accomplishment, but she then turned around and took 2nd in the 300 hurdles.  Running in the third and final heat (a.k.a. the fast heat...though at this level there are no "slow" heats!), she ran a phenomenal final 150m to pass several competitors during that final stretch.  She was rapidly closing on the leader during the final 50m but just ran out of room.  The PR she ran was all you could ask for from this amazing student-athlete.  Congratulations to her.  We will all look forward to seeing her progress as she moves on to compete collegiately.
